CARE Ethiopia’s mission is to work with the poor women and men, boys and girls, communities and institutions, to have a significant impact on the underlying causes of poverty in Ethiopia.

Objective: The purpose of the Project Manager (Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Nutrition) Manager position is to provide overall leadership and coordination for ensuring the implementation and accomplishment of the objectives of this specific Adolescent Sexual Reproductive health and nutrition project under his/her responsibility in line with CARE’s vision, goals, and program principles, standards, approaches and Long Range Strategic Plan

Responsibilities and Tasks

Project Implementation

§ Organizes the implementation process of all set targets planned for this project with respective partners, experts and other concerned staff working within program departments;

§ Ensures that project staff and partners have updated monthly and quarterly implementation plans;

§ In collaboration with other SRH team, builds the capacity of project implementing staff and partners in technical issues pertinent to the scope of work of the project .

Project Planning

§ With unit coordinator and the project team and LDM unit analyzes past experiences to systematize and incorporate lessons learned into the planning process;

§ Based on past accomplishments and achievements adjusts project targets, strategies, resources and delegation of responsibilities to ensure appropriate progress toward project objectives;

Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

§ Ensures that project under his/her supervision include an appropriate log-frame, detailed implementation plan and implementation protocol in line with the overall project process

§ In consultation with LDM advisor organizes a monitoring system to collect initial capacity assessment and periodic data for tracking performance and decision making;

Project Budget Management

§ In collaboration with program coordinator and finance staff prepares annual budget based on project proposal and ensures compliance with donor requirements;

§ Ensures appropriate utilization of fund codes for charging budget expenditures;

Staff Management

§ Supervises, leads, guides, orients, trains, coaches and supports technical staffs of the project.

§ Builds the technical and managerial capacity of the field staff in planning and implementing projects effectively and efficiently;

§ Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as merit increases and other salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary actions including performance improvement plans;

Networking, Learning and Representation

§ Establishes and maintain formal and informal communication mechanisms with government, community partners and other stakeholders;

§ Participate in meetings held at different levels to discuss project related issues;

Job Requirements

Qualification (Know how)

A) Education/Training

Bachelor degree Public Health/ Nutrition, Nurse or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

B) Experience

5-6 year’s experience working on public health, out of which 2-3 years’ service in managerial level.

C) Competencies
