Job Description

LWF World Service Ethiopia is a registered foreign charity which has been operating in Ethiopia since 1973 implementing various development and humanitarian projects in different parts of Ethiopia. LWF World Service Ethiopia works closely with the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), the Ethiopian Government, UN organizations and other funding partners. Its thematic areas include promotion of food security and sustainable livelihood, sustainable natural resources managment, emergency preparedness, response and rehabilitation, and capacity building. LWF World Service Ethiopia invites qualified candidates to apply for the following vacant positions:

Duties and responsibilities

The Project Coordinators are answerable to the respective Program Officers of their designate. Applying expertise in project management, implementation, follow-up, monitoring, evaluation and project staff administration is highly expected.

The ideal candidates will also:

Demonstrate commitment to the vision, mission, core values, aims and principles of LWF Ethiopia, including equal opportunity, gender sensitivity. Demonstrate strong team organization and community development facilitation and commitment to bring about positive changes


Terms of employment is one year with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Irrigation Engineering/ Food Security/ Agricultural Engineering or related fields from recognized University/College.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience for Bachelor degree and 4 years for Masters degree.

Additional requirements

  • Excellent written and oral English Language skills,
  • Good skills in reporting and monitoring,
  • Excellent Representation,
  • Strong project management skills; and solid working experience in water resource development and natural resource management,
  • Energetic individual who is able to perform multitask of coordinating the project as well as leading the water development component and natural resource management,
  • Capable to work in close cooperation and coordination with partners and government offices including the communities.

Competencies required:

  • Respect, accountability, transparency, courage, excellence, initiating actions, innovation, collaboration, building partnerships, communication with impact, negotiation, planning and organizing.
  • NGO Experience is advantageous
  • Need to be Computer literate
