Job Description

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) wants to recruit employees in the following vacant positions the details of which are mentioned below.

Brief highlight of the Society

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established on the eve of Ethio-Italian war, on July, 8, 1935 and signed the Geneva Convention on July 25 of the same year and became 48th member of League of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies on 25, September 1935. Since then the Society have engaged on providing Humanitarian services & community based development initiatives.

Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 32 Zonal Branches and 112 District/Woreda Branches and 3673 grass root committees/Kebele Red Cross Committees

Job Summary:- The Health program coordinator act as a technical focal point for the ERCS health projects /programmes, responsible for the management and reporting of health programs funded by the NLRC, Provide technical support and facilitate the development and implementation of the 3FM Pneumonia Morbidity and Mortality Reduction Programme as outlined in the programme description, Seeks support and feedback from partners for (final) reporting, baseline surveys, project proposals, programme reviews and evaluation etc.

Prepare annual plan of action and budget for the programme activities in close collaboration with the implementing branches / regions, NLRC and other partners. Coach the ERCS Branch / regional staff and provide technical support in the improvement of tools, methods, approaches and development of IEC materials in consultation with government stakeholders, NLRC and other partners.

Work Unit/ Project/ Program: DRR Department

Terms of employment: Contract for one Year with Possibility of Extension.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements: First degree in Public Health /clinical health or Post graduate degree in public health or other relevant fields and 10/8 years working experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with a focus on community health and care in the community (e.g. support disease management)

Other skills & abilities required: Knowledge and experience in integrated management of childhood illnesses, participatory planning and review techniques, Strong inter-personal skills, Skills in analysis and development of IEC / BCC materials is an advantage, Program Management, including narrative and financial reporting, financial management, budget preparation and control, Proficiency in spoken and written English and Practical knowledge of computer Skills.
