Job Description

Purpose of the position: Well head construction, assist in generator, pump installation, pump test, and water supply system checkup. Perform vehicle operation of em crew and drilling crew as required

Major Responsibility

  • Well head construction and assist in pump installation, pumping test, generator installation and commissioning,
  • Assist in water supply system checkup and EM equipment commissioning,
  • Collect water sample for water quality analysis and maintain records;
  • Handle with care and efficiency all properties and tools.
  • Perform vehicle operation and other duties as ordered,

Job Requirements

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Educational level required: 10+1, 10+2, 10+3 or 10+4 TVET in Auto electricity, auto mechanics,
  • Technical Training qualifications required: Auto electricity and Auto mechanics,
  • Experience: experiences in EM works particularly Well head construction, generator and pump installation, pump test > 4 year.

World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is an International Humanitarian Christian Organization whose objective is to provide holistic and integrated development and emergency response programs in the country. WVE National Office has an immediate opening for a person who fulfills the following qualifications.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Community Systems and Capacity Development Director (CSCDD) will work closely with the Chief of Party (CoP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP), government counterpart, community based structures and other actors in need of capacity building interventions that are actively engaged in comprehensive community based HIV and AIDS treatment, care and support services in the project operation areas and at national level.

The proposed CSCDD will be responsible for coordinating all activities associated with building host government capacity, community-based structures, and other actors and processes that constitute systems for the provision of comprehensive community based HIV and AIDS treatment, care and support services.

The CSCDD is expected to have Advanced Degree or higher in social work, social sciences or a closely related field with at least five years of experience in designing, implementing and managing community based HIV and AIDS treatment, Care and Support systems strengthening initiatives, institutional/ organizational capacity building, in sub-Saharan/developing countries. S/he will also work to ensure that sub-grantee management activities are in full compliance with USAID regulations and aligned to WV Ethiopia national office operations. The CSCDD shall have a keen understanding of the country context and work carefully and collaboratively to support the various entities in Ethiopia.

The proposed candidate shall have experience of managing comprehensive community based HIV and AIDS treatment, care and support services, strengthening systems and processes for ensuing the care and protection and People living with HIV and AIDS, and building the capacity of government, communities and other civil society organizations as well as experience in quality improvement or policy research, advocacy, planning and development and engaging representatives of the host country government, civil society organizations, international development organizations and NGOs to support project implementation.

S/he is required to have capability to strategically think, use diplomacy and effectively manage conflict, build team and negotiate with skills of interpersonal communication and facilitation, writing and oral presentation as well as ability to lead high-level meetings, forums, and conferences nationally and sub nationally.

The applicant must demonstrate strong experience in sub-grantee management, including building the capacity of local organizations and sub-grantees in U.S. government (USG) - supported grants. Coaching, advising, and enforcement. As the focus of this project is building capacities to effectively deliver community based HIV Prevention Care and Treatment for PLHIV, the most competitive candidates will also have experience in child welfare, protection and gender programs. Experience/expertise reaching adolescents, discordant couples, mothers, and PLHIV is a plus.

Major duties:-

  • Ensure all community systems strengthening and capacity development related results are fully achieved
  • Ensure Continued community and institutional systems strengthened and capacity built for sustainable community and facility based HIV treatment, care and support service
  • Active institutional and community partner structures relevant to the project capacity and systems assessment
  • Effectively communicate and maintain partnerships and collaboration with host government; coordinate with MOH/HAPCO, PLHIV Associations and Networks, Local Implementing Partners, CSOs and other agencies related to systems strengthening and capacity building initiatives on community based HIV treatment, care and support
  • Identify capacity development needs of local partners through a participatory process, analyze feedback and develop operational plans
  • Monitor progresses made in building the capacity of local partners in collaboration with the M&E unit and provide periodic reports
  • Establish and maintain effective systems strengthening and capacity building reporting and evaluation for timely and quality communication within the project, consortium /sub grantees and partners

Job Requirements

  • Advanced Degree or higher in social work, social sciences or related field
  • Five years or more experience on community based HIV and AIDS treatment, Care and Support interventions design, implementation and management
  • Experience in management and administration of a USAID Cooperative Agreement
  • Experience in technical, organizational, financial and human capacity assessment and building of community based and institutional structures in Ethiopia or any sub-Saharan/developing countries
  • Experience in managing of comprehensive community based HIV and AIDS treatment, care and support services, strengthening systems and processes to ensure care and protection for PLHIV
  • Experience with quality improvement, policy research, advocacy, planning and development
  • Experience in engaging representatives of Ethiopian government, civil society organizations, international development organizations and NGOs

The Community Service Delivery Director (CSDD) provides technical leadership to strengthen comprehensive community based HIV and AIDS treatment, care and support services and also provides guidance and support to sub- awards in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of HIV and AIDS services working closely with M&E and Quality Management Director besides with the Chief of Party (CoP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) as a member of Senior leadership Team within the Project

The proposed CSDD will be the technical expert for activities related to strengthening treatment, care and support services, ensuring standards and quality of care, supervising and working with various service advisers on health related strategic information. S/he provides guidance on scientific, policy and practices on treatment, care and support services while will also be responsible for activities of building host government capacity, community-based structures, and other actors and processes that constitute systems for the provision of community based treatment, care and support services.

S/he is required to have MPH plus preferably advanced Degree or higher in social work, social sciences or a closely related field with more than 10 years of experience along with specialized knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the areas of expanding access to comprehensive HIV and AIDS services in the country with effects of strengthened service delivery at the regional, national and clinical level.

The applicant is required to have program/project management experience with USAID, PEPFAR, or other U.S. government (USG) as well as understanding of the Ethiopian health care delivery system with ability to manage a team composed of several technical experts. And also demonstrate ability to coach, mentor and develop technical capacity in national programs and technical team members as well as capability to liaise with senior MOH and RHBs officials and dignitaries, executives of NGOs, FBOs, CBOs, the for-profit business community, and senior members of the donor community. Capability in written, presentation, communication and organizational skills in English is highly desirable. Faith & Development Grant Project officer


Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To provide technical support in designing, implementing and monitoring Faith & Development Grant Projects.

Major duties:-

  • Take part in designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Faith & Development Grant Projects
  • Assist the Faith & Development Grant Projects Manager in collecting and compiling the projects information for monthly, quarterly and annual accomplishment reports
  • Take part in planning, facilitating and conducting trainings/workshops for HO & AP level F&D Projects activities
  • Assist the Faith & Development Grant Projects Manager in providing overall budget monitoring and expenses control, including compliance with minimum WVE and donor requirements.
  • Take part in collecting, writing and documentation of success stories, best practices and lessons on F&D Projects implementations
  • Assist the Faith & Development Grant Projects Manager in closely working and networking with regional, zonal and district level Faith Based Forums (FBFs) and government sectors and concerned stakeholders for planning, implementation, reporting and documentation.
  • Engage in the preparation of quality Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials in collaboration with POOs and ADPs
  • Prepare purchase plan aligning with annual plan, fill PRs and submit to Supplies Chain Management (SCM) office at HO level and follow up its progress.
  • Assist the Faith & Development Grant Projects Manager in preparing agreements, TOR for BID and Sub granting, follow up the process and its progress, identify and orient the consultants & partners and facilitate proper environment for implementation.
  • Promote major cross cutting themes including environment, gender, child protection, disability, peace building and Christian commitment

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Qualification required: BA/MA in Social Science fields, and/or Theology.

Work Experience: at least 5 years of relevant experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of projects; preparing quality reports and success stories and facilitating trainings in the context of diverse denominations/faith groups.

Educational Training qualifications required: Social science, Theology and related

Other: NGO and FBO experience is preferred.
