🚀 Position Summary

Awura Computing PLC is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager with a strong background in software development, Agile methodologies, and project leadership. The ideal candidate will drive project success from concept to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality execution while fostering team collaboration and stakeholder alignment.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Agile Project Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex software projects.
• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
• Maintain a clear project backlog using tools like Linear and GitLab, tracking progress and metrics (velocity, burn-down, etc.).
• Ensure timely delivery aligned with technical and business goals.

Stakeholder Communication & Alignment

• Act as the main contact for all project stakeholders.
• Communicate progress, risks, and milestones clearly and regularly.
• Translate complex technical discussions into simple, actionable insights for non-technical teams and leadership.
• Ensure stakeholder alignment with product and business objectives.

Team Empowerment & Issue Resolution

• Foster a high-performance, collaborative engineering environment.
• Identify and remove blockers that hinder progress.
• Mediate technical and product-related discussions, ensuring consensus and clarity.

Documentation

• Produce and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including roadmaps, process notes, and reports.

🎓 Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years in software development, including at least 2+ years in a Technical Project Manager, Engineering Manager, or Scrum Master role.
• Agile Expertise: Proven experience leading Agile/Scrum or Kanban-based software projects.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, including microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Familiarity with backend ecosystems—Go (Golang) knowledge is a strong plus.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and spoken proficiency in English and Amharic; excellent stakeholder communication skills.

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Prior experience as a hands-on software engineer.
• Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PSM, or PMP are advantageous.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps culture, and data-driven applications.
• Experience managing projects involving SQL/NoSQL databases or system integrations.
