Position Summary

The Chief Corporate Finance and Advisory Officer will lead Awash Capital’s corporate finance and advisory division. The role involves overseeing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, financial advisory, and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian Capital Market regulations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced financial leader with deep knowledge of the Ethiopian financial system, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in investment banking.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage corporate finance mandates, including M&A, valuations, and capital raising.
  • Provide strategic financial and investment advisory services to corporate, institutional, and government clients.
  • Oversee financial modeling, due diligence, and preparation of transaction documentation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with ECMA, ESX, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategy aligned with Awash Capital’s strategic goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and product innovations.
  • Mentor and lead a team of corporate finance professionals to achieve high performance.
  • Manage financial, operational, and compliance risks, maintaining integrity and transparency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) and Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) operations.
  • Proven expertise in M&A transactions, financial modeling, and valuation.
  • CISI Level 1 certification (mandatory); CFA, ACCA, or CPA credentials are a strong advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • High professional integrity, strategic thinking, and decision-making capability.
