Role Overview
ICS is seeking a Communications Officer to lead the school’s storytelling and communication efforts. The ideal candidate will develop compelling content that highlights school initiatives, achievements, and community engagement across digital platforms, print materials, and events.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage content for social media, newsletters, the school website, and marketing materials.

Oversee social media strategy, including planning, posting, engagement tracking, and analytics.

Produce and coordinate multimedia content, including photos and videos, to showcase school life.

Ensure effective internal communications for students, staff, and families.

Support major school events and initiatives with communication planning and coverage.

Maintain clear, consistent messaging during routine and crisis communications.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

At least 5 years’ experience in a communications role, ideally within education or international organizations.

Proven experience in content creation, media management, and internal communications.

Familiarity with CMS tools, social media platforms, and analytics software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred:
-
Understanding of international school curricula such as IB programs.

Fluency in Amharic or another local language.

Skills in photography, video production, or graphic design.
