Consultancy Overview

FTA’s e-learning platform is a key tool for training producers and staff. The consultancy aims to upgrade the e-learning platform (built on Moodle) and digitize learning content to enhance accessibility, engagement, and user experience.


Objectives

  • Upgrade and enhance the existing FTA e-learning platform.
  • Digitize and revise 13 existing training manuals and develop 1 new online module.
  • Improve accessibility for multilingual and low-bandwidth environments.
  • Deliver a user-friendly, interactive, and scalable e-learning system for over 700 Producer Organizations across Africa.

Key Tasks

1. Project Management

  • Conduct a kick-off meeting and prepare a detailed project plan.
  • Provide regular progress updates and coordinate with the FTA team.
  • Manage review and approval processes for deliverables.

2. Content Design and Development

  • Analyze existing manuals and convert them into interactive digital modules.
  • Develop storyboards, animations, quizzes, and case studies.
  • Present three sample user interface designs aligned with FTA branding.
  • Integrate the finalized modules into the Moodle platform.
  • Ensure culturally relevant imagery, language, and examples.

3. Platform Upgrade

  • Redesign platform interface for simplicity and intuitive navigation.
  • Optimize for speed, stability, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Enable multilingual functionality (French, Swahili, Arabic, Portuguese).
  • Ensure low-bandwidth compatibility, offline access, and video transcripts.
  • Pilot-test the platform before rollout.

Expected Deliverables

  • âś… Inception Report – work plan, methodology, and timelines.
  • âś… Upgraded Moodle-based e-learning platform.
  • âś… Interactive Learning Modules – 21 manuals digitized with multimedia content.
  • âś… Final Project Report – lessons learned and sustainability recommendations.

FTA will retain full copyright ownership of all materials.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in e-learning development (preferably Moodle).
  • Proven work in digital learning solutions for low-bandwidth African contexts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, UX/UI, and content digitization.
  • Strong project management and communication capacity.
  • References and samples of similar past projects are required.

  3. At least two reference letters from similar past projects.
  4. Technical Proposal – methodology, work plan, and deliverables.
  5. Financial Proposal (USD) – itemized costs including taxes and fees.
  6. Additional Value Propositions (optional).
