Position Overview
DRC is seeking a Finance Coordinator to oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and donor compliance for projects in Ethiopia. This role will act as the focal point for master budgeting, grant financial management, and the DRC Dynamics financial system, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial practices.
Key Responsibilities
Master Budget & Financial Planning

Develop and maintain the country master budget for management decision-making, updating it quarterly.

Serve as focal point for DRC Dynamics budget management, providing training and troubleshooting support.

Ensure project budgets are prepared according to internal and donor guidelines, including allocation of support costs and funding gaps.
Budget Monitoring & Follow-Up

Set up Budget Follow-Ups (BFUs) and Work Breakdown Structures for all grants.

Track spending, monitor burn rates, and identify underperformance or compliance issues.

Coordinate with Area Managers and budget holders to ensure effective utilization of project funds.
Donor Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and submit timely financial reports to donors in required formats.

Ensure compliance with donor regulations and internal financial policies.

Support statutory reporting and audit processes.

Review financial reports from partners and ensure adherence to donor requirements.
Partnership Support & Capacity Building

Build financial management capacity of partners through training and guidance.

Conduct financial assessments and monitoring visits to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Support partners in reporting, budgeting, and co-funding identification.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years in finance roles, including 3 years in INGOs.

Experience managing project budgets funded by humanitarian donors.

Knowledge of financial compliance, reporting, and procedures.

Skills:

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Languages:

Excellent English (written and spoken).

Knowledge of Amharic is an advantage.
