The Construction Business Unit of EEC is engaged in delivering large-scale and complex projects, including high-rise commercial and residential buildings, real estate developments, infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, and airports, as well as projects in the water and energy sectors. The Corporation’s construction division continues to expand into multiple specialized business areas, including Piling, Underground and Foundation Works, Fit-Out, Solar Energy Solutions, Electromechanical Systems, Facility Management, Landscaping, and Construction Materials Production.

Qualification and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Architecture from a recognized university.

Willingness to relocate and work outside Addis Ababa when required.
Role Purpose
The Junior Architect will contribute to the planning, design, and development of construction projects. The role involves creating innovative design solutions that meet client needs while ensuring functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Concept Development: Understand client requirements, prepare initial sketches, and develop conceptual building designs.

Design Presentation: Prepare and deliver design proposals and presentations to clients and project stakeholders.

Architectural Design: Develop creative and functional design solutions addressing building layout, appearance, accessibility, and sustainability.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and technical teams to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into building designs.

Design Development: Produce detailed architectural drawings, models, and plans showing building components and design intent.

Technical Documentation: Prepare complete construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, and material details.

Compliance: Ensure all designs and technical documents meet relevant construction codes, standards, and safety regulations.
