Position: Funded Traineeship Opportunity – For Young Graduates
Are you a young graduate passionate about international relations, global governance, and diplomacy?
This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the most respected diplomatic missions — the EU Delegation to the African Union, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Qualifications / Special Requirements

Applicants must currently reside in Ethiopia (due to local health and security conditions).

Master’s degree in one of the following:
-
Communication, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Law, or related Social Studies.
-
Maximum 1 year of work experience.
-
Fluency in English (required).
-
Strong understanding and interest in EU–AU politics, economics, and governance.
-
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
-
Proven skills in content creation (audiovisual, social media, infographics, or video editing).
-
Experience with Canva or similar design/editing tools.
-
A proactive, reliable, and creative attitude with strong teamwork skills.
Main Tasks
-
Assist in research and political analysis on regional and continental developments.
-
Contribute to reports, briefings, and communication products.
-
Support engagement with the press, partners, and stakeholders, including database management, newsletter preparation, and social media updates.

Draft and edit content such as videos, social media cards, factsheets, speeches, and project summaries.
-
Help coordinate the Team Europe Communication Community and Delegation Communication Cluster, maintaining collaborative platforms and meeting records.

Participate in organizing internal and external events, preparing post-event reports.
