Position Summary
The Finance Officer will report directly to the Senior Finance & Operations Manager, Ethiopia, supporting the financial management of projects in compliance with Reach for Change and donor policies. This role ensures:

Strong donor contract management

Effective risk mitigation
The Finance Officer will collaborate closely with Program teams and partners to maintain robust financial systems, timely reporting, and accurate budget execution.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Compliance
-
Monitor project financial transactions, ensuring compliance with internal and donor policies.

Maintain accurate coding of disbursements within approved budgets.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger updates.
Budgeting & Reporting
-
Assist in annual and quarterly budget preparation with project teams.

Prepare Budget vs Actual (BVA) reports for management review.
-
Generate cash forecasts and utilization analysis.
-
Support donor financial reporting per contractual obligations.
Audit & Risk Management
-
Coordinate internal, external, and donor audits.
-
Implement audit recommendations and mitigate financial risks.
Grant Management
-
Maintain updated grant files, agreements, and disbursement records.
-
Support grant closeout and due diligence processes.
-
Ensure effective fund utilization in collaboration with Grant Managers.
Partner Support & Capacity Building
-
Assist partners with financial reporting, audits, and compliance checks.

Provide financial management training and guidance to RFC beneficiaries.
HR & Administrative Support
-
Payroll processing, tax compliance, and staff benefit management.

Review and process business/travel advance requests accurately.
Systems & Data Management
-
Ensure accurate financial data entry in Sage and NetSuite.

Maintain comprehensive financial records for all projects.
-
Handle bank relations, deposits, and reconciliations.
Shared Team Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; ACCA/CPA part-qualified preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in NGO finance or donor-funded project management.
-
Strong knowledge of donor compliance, grant management, budgeting, and audits.
-
Proficiency in Sage, NetSuite, and advanced Excel.

Solid understanding of Ethiopian tax and fiscal regulations.
-
Excellent analytical, reporting, and team coordination skills.
-
High integrity and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
