Finn Church Aid (FCA) Ethiopia is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager for 2025. Experienced professionals in MEAL, data analysis, and project evaluation in education, community development, or humanitarian sectors are encouraged to apply.

Position: MEAL Manager

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Job Purpose

The MEAL Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems for all FCA Ethiopia area programs. The role involves coordination with project teams, data collection and analysis, reporting, quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with FCA standards and donor requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Coordinate data collection, cleaning, and management
  • Compile and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for projects
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis for reporting and decision-making
  • Ensure accurate data cleaning, sorting, and categorization
  • Prepare internal evaluation reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Implement MEAL systems and provide technical support to field staff and partners
  • Ensure timely feedback of monitoring results to communities and stakeholders

Planning

  • Review and contribute to MEAL plans for all projects
  • Ensure projects comply with FCA’s MEAL requirements and reporting standards
  • Support proposal development by integrating MEAL components
  • Lead evaluation studies and ensure learning from project data

Knowledge Management & Learning

  • Integrate MEAL systems across projects and the Ethiopia country program
  • Ensure routine data collection, analysis, and reporting contribute to program learning
  • Maintain records of research and evaluation results at the area program level

Team Support

  • Independent position; provide guidance and capacity building to field staff
  • Assist other FCA programs as needed in data quality control and MEAL support
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisor or senior management

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Postgraduate or advanced training in Monitoring & Evaluation, data analysis, or database management
  • Minimum 4 years of MEAL experience in education, community development, or related sectors
  • Strong skills in strategic thinking, planning, data analysis, and reporting
  • Proficiency in SPSS or other data analysis tools
  • Experience with projects funded by UNHCR, UNICEF, PRM, ECHO, USAID is advantageous
  • Strong communication, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
