Secondary Teacher - Mathematics

At Bingham Academy, our mathematics classes are taught by qualified teachers and are designed to build knowledge and skills that will enable students to understand and explore God's world as well as prepare for further studies at University and beyond. At Bingham, you will have the opportunity to make an impact in an environment where students and parents value your contribution and ministry. 

We are currently looking for Mathematics Teachers with an ability to teach in Secondary School (12-15 or 15-18 year olds). 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Mathematics
  • Teaching License, Qualification or Credential
  • Experience with teaching Cambridge curriculum (desired but negotiable)

  • Demonstrate understanding of recent educational trends and best practices, including relevant curriculum and learning and assessment theory
  • Experience designing personalized and differentiated learning experiences for students
  • Effective classroom management techniques

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to contribute to a positive school environment for students, staff and the overall community

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses assigned by the secondary principal
    • Undertake evaluation, assessment and monitoring of students in accordance with school guidelines and the Cambridge Syllabus (where applicable)
    • Use a full range of teaching and assessment techniques that target identified needs/abilities
    • Ensure that entire curriculum is delivered
    • Develop a class environment that supports each student holistically 
  • Carry out all assigned duties with professionalism
    • Keep records for each class, including lesson plans, grades, attendance, etc. 
    • Post accurate grades in orderly and timely manner
    • Report to school on time, prepared for meetings and classes
  • Teach and serve in a broad range of responsibilities as requested by administration
    • Be prepared to substitute from time to time
    • Participate in planned secondary events, both during the school day and outside of school hours
    • Supervise students during breaks and before/after school as scheduled
  • Communicate timely and professionally with parents as needed, discussing student performance and writing annual reports
  • Maintain personal teaching certifications
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
