About NEBE

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established under Proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutional body responsible for conducting elections, organizing referenda, and regulating political parties in Ethiopia. To strengthen its institutional capacity and prepare for future elections, NEBE is offering internship opportunities for fresh graduates in different departments.

These internships provide valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment and the chance to contribute to Ethiopia’s democratic process.


Internship Positions

1. Intern – Training Department

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Key Skills:

  • Strong organizational and communication abilities (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with email, social media, and other communication platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Training Department in preparing for the upcoming General Election.
  • Assist with training coordination, communication, and logistical arrangements.
  • Contribute to activities across different regions.

Language Requirement:

  • Proficiency in one or more regional languages (Amharic, Afan Oromo, Afari, Afan Somali, Tigrigna).

Number of Positions: 20
Duration: 10 months
Compensation: Stipend (no salary)


2. Intern – Logistics Department

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (no prior experience required).

Key Skills:

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Flexibility to work under challenging conditions and willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Number of Positions: 24
Duration: 7 months
Compensation: Stipend (no salary)


General Information

  • Duty Station: NEBE Headquarters, Addis Ababa
  • Reports to: Training Department or Logistics Department (depending on placement)
  • Encouragement: Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
