Position Overview: Roving Supply Chain Lead – ESA
CARE is seeking a dynamic, mobile, and results-driven Supply Chain Leader to support its Supply Chain Transformation Project across East and Southern Africa.
The Roving Supply Chain Lead will serve as the critical link between CARE’s global Supply Chain network and Country Office operations, strengthening systems for procurement, logistics, fleet management, emergency preparedness, and overall operational excellence. This role involves field engagement, cross-country mentoring, and strategic guidance to enhance regional supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence: Provide expert guidance to Country Office Supply Chain teams across procurement, logistics, warehousing, fleet management, and distribution.

Capacity Building: Mentor supply chain leaders, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and implement tools for effective planning and performance monitoring.

Transformation Leadership: Collaborate with the Global Supply Chain team to implement new policies, tools, and technologies advancing CARE’s Supply Chain Transformation agenda.

Emergency Preparedness: Strengthen readiness for humanitarian emergencies, ensuring rapid response through effective planning and systems.

Risk Management & Compliance: Identify operational risks, ensure donor compliance, and maintain accountability across the supply chain.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with global, regional, and country teams to align strategies, share insights, and influence operational improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience: Minimum 5+ years in procurement, logistics, or administration in Country Office or regional field settings.
