About the Role
The Senior Manager, Shared Services & Financial Capacity Building plays a key leadership role within MSI’s Global Finance Department, reporting to the Associate Director of Global Finance.
You will:

Lead the development of a financial competency framework and build the capacity of finance teams across regions and country programmes.

Manage the Shared Services Team (Purchase Ledger and Payroll) based in London.

Collaborate with regional finance directors to ensure teams have the right skills, systems, and accountability structures to deliver excellence.

Support continuous improvement in financial systems, controls, and processes to strengthen operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities

Strengthen financial management systems across global and regional teams.

Lead and mentor the Shared Services team to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Oversee payroll and purchase ledger functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Develop and deliver finance training programs and competency frameworks.

Identify and address financial risks through improved internal controls.

Write and review financial policies and procedures aligned with best practices.

Ensure smooth collaboration between global, regional, and country finance functions.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Professional Accounting Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent (Essential)

Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (Desirable)

Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance leadership roles.

Proven record of building and managing finance teams in complex, multi-country environments.

Hands-on experience managing payroll and purchase ledger departments.

Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Familiarity with Charity SORP and financial systems (e.g., Sun, Q&A).
Preferred Skills

Experience strengthening financial governance in an international NGO setting.

Capacity-building expertise in developing teams and designing training frameworks.

Compensation & Benefits

UK Salary Range: £46,000 – £59,600 per annum (plus discretionary bonus and benefits).

For MSI country programme locations, salary will align with the national pay scale and local terms and conditions.
