Established by the Oromo Self-Reliance Association (OSRA), Wasasa obtained its microfinance business license (No. MFI/017/2000) from the National Bank of Ethiopia on September 20, 2000.
The institution currently operates 51 branches and 24 rural banks across 58 Woredas in the Oromia Regional State — empowering communities through access to savings and credit services. Wasasa continues to expand its outreach every year.
