Awash Capital S.C., the investment banking arm of Awash Bank, is inviting qualified and motivated applicants for the following job positions.

Established with an initial capital of 200 million Birr, Awash Capital is dedicated to delivering specialized financial and advisory services that foster growth in Ethiopia’s emerging capital market. The company supports businesses in key sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology.

1. Research Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of CISI Introduction to Investment (Level 3) certification
• At least 3 years of professional research experience
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
• Proficiency in statistical tools and financial modeling

Responsibilities:
The Research Officer will conduct financial, economic, and sectoral research to support Awash Capital’s investment and advisory services. The role involves analyzing data, preparing reports, and delivering forecasts to guide strategic decision-making.

2. Company Secretary & Legal Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications:

• LLB or higher in Law
• Minimum 5 years of experience in legal advisory or company secretarial roles
• Previous experience in financial institutions is preferred

Responsibilities:
This role provides legal and governance support to ensure compliance with Ethiopian laws, capital market regulations, and corporate governance standards. The officer will advise the Board of Directors, manage statutory obligations, and provide legal counsel to the company.

3. Business Development Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field
• Minimum CISI Introduction to Investment (Level 3) certification
• At least 3 years of experience in business development, marketing, or sales
• Strong communication skills in English and Amharic (additional local languages are an advantage)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) is an advantage
• Experience in the financial services sector is preferred

Responsibilities:
The Business Development Officer will identify new business opportunities, develop relationships with clients, and support the promotion of Awash Capital’s investment and advisory services.

4. Head of Research and Business Development

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• A Master’s degree or professional certification (CISI Level 3 or higher) is an advantage
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience in financial research, business strategy, and stakeholder engagement
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian financial markets, investment products, and trading
• Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic (other local languages are an advantage)

Responsibilities:
The Head of Research and Business Development will oversee research and strategy functions, guide product development, and drive growth initiatives. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders in Ethiopia’s capital market ecosystem.
